This is Us alum Justin Hartley plays a lone-wolf survivalist, Colter Shaw, seeking to solve mysteries in the trailer for CBS‘ Tracker drama, which dropped on Friday.
“You collect rewards, right?” he’s asked at one point in the trailer. “I prefer the term ‘rewardist.’ Everyone’s looking for something,” Shaw answers as he makes his way through a forest.
CBS will use the Super Bowl, the biggest TV event of the season, as a plum promotional launch pad for Tracker on Feb. 11, as the drama starring Hartley will finally bow after it was picked up to series in December 2022.

As Shaw travels across the U.S. to resolve mysteries, at another point in the trailer he is seen giving first aid to a young woman injured while on a wilderness adventure. He takes the time to offer some advice: “How you survive is you make quick, smart decisions. You remain calm. You never let panic take the wheel.”
Based on the novel The Never Game by Jeffery Deaver, Tracker as a detective drama sees Shaw help ordinary people and aid law enforcement, all while contending with his own fractured family.
Tracker also marks Hartley’s return to TV since his success on This is Us. The drama will debut on CBS and the CBS app and will then stream on Paramount+ the day after the episode airs.
The series hails from Disney’s 20th Television, where Hartley and pilot director and executive producer Ken Olin both have overall deals. Hartley, Olin, Elwood Reid, Ben Winters and Deaver serve as executive producers.
